NABF CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SYSTEM

For list of current NABF Champions - click here

Adopted from UKC
First place class win earns 10 points (with or without competition).
Best Male or Best Female earns 15 points (with competition).
Best of Winners: The Best Male and Best Female compete against each other to earn an additional 10 points.
Total points that can be earned is 35

There are no additional points for any other wins for BOB, Groups, RBIS or BIS wins until after the dogue has attained it's NABF title.

Competition is calculated and championship requirements are as follows:
Your dog must earn a minimum of 100 CH points and three wins with competition under three different Judges to earn it's Championship title. Competition is defined as follows: As long as the Judge does not withhold
a placement or higher award, then the appropriate points will be awarded to the dog, regardless of how many dogs are entered at the class level in a breed.

Competition is credited in one of the following manners:

1. The class dog must win a minimum of their Best of Sex (Best Male or Best Female) and win over another class dog (any class) of the same breed, same sex.

2. If the dog is the only one of its sex then it must also win a minimum of their Best of Sex and beat the other Best of Sex for Best of Winners. In other words the Best Male and the Best Female would compete and the dog awarded the Best of Winners would receive an appropriate competition win.

3. If the class dog is awarded the Best of Breed win OVER either Champions or Grand Champions of the same breed then it would be credited as a competition win, and deemed a major.

If your is the only dog entered in your breed, in order to gain competition, then the dog would have to either:

a) Place in Group competition if groups are held, beating another dog in their respective group.

b) Awarded a Best In Multi-Breed or Reserve Best In Multi-Breed Show.

The requirements to earn the GR CH title is as follows:

For dogs who are competing in a Champion or Grand Champion class (UKC, Rarities, IABCA, etc) who wins their class WITH competition, who win Best Of Breed WITH competition, take a Group placement WITH competition or win Reserve Best in Show or Best In Show (competition is defined as one other dogue over 6 months old) would be eligible for a major (35 points) toward an NABF Championship title. This must be achieved under 3 different judges. 3 majors are required for a Championship. With no competition, your dog automatically collects 10 points toward the 100 points needed for a NABF Championship. Without competition however, those points are not credited toward a major.

After a dogue is deemed a NABF Champion, from there achieve a NABF Grand Championship for the dog, it would be required that the dogue take the win in Champion class or win Best Of Breed at 5 different shows under 3 different judges with a minimum of 3 Champion dogues (may be CH or GR CH dogues combined) in the ring. Each Best Of Breed win with the minimum requirement of dogues is considered a major, as 5 such majors must be fulfilled for a NABF Grand Champion title to be issued.
