  Club Constitution

ARTICLE 1.
The name of the club shall be known, from this day forward, as the North American Bordeaux Federation (to be referred to by the initials of NABF).

ARTICLE 2.
The objectives of the club are as follows:

·To encourage the highest standards in breeding and caring for registered purebred Dogue de Bordeaux, and to do all possible to bring the Dogue de
Bordeaux’s natural qualities to perfection.

·To urge members and breeders alike (NABF club member or not) to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the FCI, the American Kennel Club
and/or the United Kennel Club, and accept no others. This is to promote excellence by which the Dogue de Bordeaux shall be judged, and to perfect,
protect, and maintain the standards in the best interest of the Dogue de Bordeaux, with the assistance of other breed clubs of the Dogue de Bordeaux
throughout the world.

·To work to protect the breed from ending up in shelters, in rescues or end up being sold at auctions or used for breeding by puppymills. Therefore,
I will make myself accountable for the pups I produce, and will, at any time, willingly accept back any pup I have produced that is unwanted by it's
owner, without question, to prevent it from becoming an issue of the fore-mentioned.

·To research genetic defects of the Dogue de Bordeaux to help breed healthier Dogue de Bordeaux.

·To promote canine education and healthy ownership of the Dogue de Bordeaux, and all dogs.

·To do everything possible to protect and advance the future betterment of the breed, and to encourage proper ethical behavior of all, and to conduct
myself in a sportsmanlike manner at all competitions and dog events.

·To assist in conducting sanctioned club matches, specialty shows, obedience trials and other events for which the club may hold, or become eligible for
through United Kennel Club.

·To prove the natural working ability of the Dogue de Bordeaux by urging members to participate in weight pulls, temperament tests, obedience, agility and
canine good citizen events, as well as any other events that may promote the multi-faceted potential of this breed.

·To get all owners, breeders and fanciers of the Dogue de Bordeaux involved in the events, meetings and general doings of the club, regardless of status
of the dogues they own (pet or show quality).

·To publish a newsletter every 6 months as a base of communication among all members. These newsletters may come via email.

ARTICLE 3.
The NABF shall not be operated or conducted for profit and no part of any profits, residues, or remainders from dues or donations shall be used to the
benefit of any member or individual.
